Not For Limbaugh

National Football League worry not, Rush Limbaugh will continue to be the “biggest non-paid promoter of the sport.”    

There is something to be celebrated in all of this, which does not involve the megalomaniac and his grand support for a sport that is doing well in spite of him.  We should be celebrating the fact that what one says can have consequences.  Although often times it seems like any alleged, former drug addict can spew lies and hate with no consequence, actually with a positive consequence, of more money; we now have the affirmation that sometimes words matter as much as they should.

Words do matter.  Why did I write “alleged former drug addict” above?  Simply because I can only confirm that Rush was once a drug abuser, I cannot safely nor accurately say he has stopped.  (In fact I hope he lives his life higher than Jerry Garcia ever could have imagined, at least that would give him an excuse for the absurd crap that comes out of his mouth.) 

Instead of admitting words matter, why not take the Limbaugh approach?  Say anything you want, anything that mindless, insecure, hate mongers want to hear and not worry about the consequences.  How about this, Rush Limbaugh has sex with apes on a daily basis and that is why he is a racist.  He feels insecure in that he cannot make the ape tell him he loves him.  Of course no one would find this believable, those that listen to Rush sure wouldn’t and those that don’t are intelligent enough to realize that nothing would sleep with Limbaugh besides a snake. 

It is not a liberal conspiracy that has given Rush the boot.  (It is good that that boot is literal, but a shame it is not physical.)  It has nothing to do with what Limbaugh uttered as, "Obama's America on full display," a line so vague and devoid of meaning I won’t even make an attempt at deciphering it.  It is the fact that he has strategically and willingly alienated African Americans in this country for years.  And he has reaped sick amounts of money from that strategic hate and alienation.  So much money that he could be a partial owner of an NFL franchise, that is if words did not mean anything.

I think attributing his ravings to his drug use is unfair to drugs. If I were a painkiller, I wouldn't want to be associated with his shit. At least Jerry could play guitar.
